WRAS Approved Rubber Parts Manufacturer — Certified for Drinking Water Contact
WRAS Certified EPDM Rubber Components — Designed, Compounded, and Manufactured in India
Mangla Rubber Technologies is one of the few Indian rubber manufacturers to hold WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) approval for EPDM rubber compounds used in drinking water contact applications. Our WRAS-approved material, branded “Ganga” — named after India’s sacred river to signify purity — has been independently tested and certified for use with potable water systems across the UK, Europe, and global markets that recognise WRAS certification.
Our WRAS approval covers compression-moulded EPDM rubber across the full hardness range from 50 Shore A to 90 Shore A, for service temperatures up to 85 deg C. This means we can manufacture O-rings, gaskets, seals, diaphragms, valve seats, and custom-profiled components — all from a single WRAS-approved compound family.
WRAS Approval Number: 2309526
Approval Holder: Mangla Rubber Technologies
Approved Materials: Ganga 50, Ganga 60, Ganga 70, Ganga 80, Ganga 90 (Black, compression-moulded EPDM)
Why WRAS Approval Matters
Any rubber component that comes into contact with drinking water must not leach harmful substances into the supply. WRAS approval provides independent, third-party verification that a material meets the strict requirements of BS 6920 testing for odour, flavour, turbidity, cytotoxicity, and the growth of aquatic microorganisms. For water utilities, OEM valve and pump manufacturers, and plumbing system integrators, specifying WRAS-approved components is not optional — it is a regulatory and quality assurance requirement.
By developing and approving our own EPDM compound in-house, we give you a direct manufacturing source rather than a trading intermediary. This means better pricing, faster lead times, full traceability from raw polymer to finished part, and the ability to customise part geometry without compromising the certification status of the base material.
Applications for WRAS Approved Rubber Parts
Water and Wastewater Treatment: Gaskets, seals, and diaphragms for filtration systems, dosing pumps, and valve actuators in municipal water treatment plants. Our WRAS-approved EPDM withstands chlorinated water, ozone treatment, and CIP (clean-in-place) chemicals used in water purification.
Plumbing and Building Services: O-rings and seals for taps, mixers, flow regulators, and pipe fittings. WRAS approval is essential for any component in the potable water chain — from the mains supply through to the point of use.
Food and Beverage Processing: While WRAS is specifically a drinking water certification, the same material properties that make our Ganga EPDM safe for potable water also make it suitable for food-contact applications. Many of our dairy and beverage industry customers specify WRAS-approved EPDM for heat exchanger gaskets, valve seals, and pump components.
OEM Valve and Pump Manufacturers: If you manufacture valves, pumps, or fittings for the water industry, you need a rubber component supplier whose material carries its own WRAS approval. This simplifies your own product certification process. We supply WRAS-approved sealing components to valve OEMs in India, the UK, and the Middle East.
Our Manufacturing Capability for WRAS Parts
Our facility in Meerut, India houses a dedicated rubber compounding line, an in-house testing laboratory, and compression moulding presses from 50 to 500 tonnes. We compound the Ganga EPDM material from base polymer through to finished compound in our own mixing facility, giving us complete control over material consistency and traceability — a critical requirement for WRAS compliance.
We manufacture WRAS-approved parts in quantities ranging from prototype batches of 50 pieces to production runs of 100,000+. Typical lead times are 2 to 3 weeks for standard parts and 4 to 6 weeks for new tooling and first-off production.
Custom WRAS Parts — From Your Drawing to Certified Production
Whether you need a standard O-ring in a WRAS-approved material or a complex custom seal profile for a proprietary valve design, our engineering team works from your drawings, CAD files, or physical samples. We design and manufacture tooling in-house, and every production batch is supplied with material test certificates confirming WRAS compliance.
